헌신의 삶이란 어떤 것일까요? 예수님의 삶을 한 단어로 표현하면 ‘사랑’이고, 예수님의 사랑을 한 단어로 표현하면 ‘희생’입니다. 그리고 예수님의 사랑과 희생이 하나로 녹아내린 단어가 ‘헌신’입니다.
What is a life of devotion? If you were to describe the life of Jesus in one word, it is LOVE. And if you were to describe the love of Jesus in one word, it is SACRIFICE. And one word to describe both his love and sacrifice is DEVOTION.
헌신은 예수님과 같은 길을 가는 것입니다. 우리가 열심히 일하고 헌신했는데 왜 그렇게 하고 있는지, 무엇을 위하여 열심을 내고 있는지 잃어버릴 때가 있습니다. 그럴 때 우리는 주님이 우리에게 무엇을 원하고 있는지 발견해야 합니다.
Devotion means following the same path as Jesus. We need to find out what he wants from us.
헌신은 나의 가장 귀중한 것을 드리는 것입니다. 헌신은 하나님의 나라를 위해 나의 소중한 것을 때로는 포기하는 것입니다. 나를 희생하지 않는 것은 헌신이 아닙니다.
Devotion also means giving up something precious to you. For the Kingdom of God, we sometimes need to give up something precious to us.
헌신은 하나님이 주신 기회를 놓치지 않는 것입니다. 내가 하고 싶을 때 돕는 것이 아니라 상대방이 필요할 때 희생하는 것이 헌신입니다.
Devotion is a finding the right time, recognizing God’s timing. We need to start working when somebody asks for our help, not just when we are ready.
주님께서 원하시는 시간에, 주님께서 원하시는 일에, 여러분의 전부를 드릴 수 있는 헌신자들이 되시길 바랍니다.
